In my project, I made a deliberate choice to spotlight the lesser-known aspects of North Carolina's history instead of the more traditional symbols like red cardinals and blue mountains. I intricately incorporated the original thirteen colonies, the founding year of the first town in the state, dogwood flowers, and the distinct "Carolina Blue" to create a visual narrative around Blackbeard. Additionally, I curated a partial circle of symbols representing other categories of the SKILLS USA competitions. This thoughtful fusion of elements ultimately led to my victory in the national SkillsUSA T-Shirt design competition, securing the prestigious 1st place.
